He is the first person, who comes up with an idea of exclusive saree shop in Calicut. He established the exclusive saree shop, Kalyan Kendra; and opened its door to the generous public of Calicut on February 9th of 1995.

In a short span of time Kalyan Kendra became the number one saree Shop of North Kerala, for that Arshad has to travel all around the Country, to get the finest collection of sarees.

Arshad, a complete business man, and a hard working personality, who always tuned his mind to listen the music of business.

After the fall of silk business at silk-street, he brought back the glory of Silk business to Calicut, by opening the exvlusive silk saree showroom in Calicut, ‘yes’ indeed, it is Kalyan Kendra, a saree shop with rare collection of hand-picked sarees from every nook and corner of the country.

Arshad is the first person who has organized exclusive silk saree festival for the first time in Calicut. After the first one, he has been organizing the festivals every year. A month long silk saree festival during the October-November period of every year, attracts the public of north Kerala.

During this period Kalyan Kendra presents exclusive designer sarees, specially designed by the well-known designers & master weavers. These festivals give a rare opportunity for the saee lovers to own designer sarees at a very reasonable rate.

To impart the importance of good dressing habit, Arshad is conducting ‘Miss Kalyan Kendra beauty contest’ every month, considering; not only the beauty, but also the style of dressing, behavior and personality.

Though, not a professional fashion designer, he is very fond of Colours, and has good idea about colours and colour combinations. Infact, he is a dreamer of colours. Because of this basic instinct, he conducted a fashion show, first of its kind in Calicut by participating the Students of B.Sc Costume and Fashion designing’ of Calicut University.

Arhsad is the only person, who introduced ‘Senior citizen respect cum privilege card in the private sector to show the respect and commitment towards the elders, other that the government.

After the successful Kalyan Kendra, he also showed his commitment to his society, by opening an English medium school with international standard of education for the first time in Calicut, ‘yes’, it is Vidya Kendra - the school with a difference. Mr. Arshad is also a member in the ‘ Board of studies’ of Calicut University.

Arshad was an all-round sports man in his schooling years. He was the Champion of shuttle badminton, table tennis, hockey and Roller scatting.

In his school and college days, Arshad was a very enthusiastic sports man. The first person form Calicut, who represented Kerala in the National roller scatting competition held at Ahmedabad in 1986. He represented Calicut University basketball team, three years continuously from 1983 to 1986. Captained the Calicut district basketball team in the 1985.

Arshad is very much interested in all sports activities, and he is a supporter and encourager of al sporting events. Football tournament organized for Kalyan Kendra trophy and all kerala three-man basketball championship won by kalyan kendra basketball team are some examples for his interest in sports.

Mr. Arshad, a humble man, with business ideas and vision, and with this he has secured first place in all his business ventures. He is very much interested in all charity activities. He is associated with charitable society like, ‘society for mental health’. He is the executive member of Calicut chamber of commerce and industry and he is a Rotarian of Rotary club of Calicut beach. He married to Thanuja and blessed with one daughter and two sons’.
